THE MOODY BLUES will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this spring, but unfortunately RAY THOMAS won’t make it. He died Thursday at the age of 76. No cause of death has been revealed, but apparently, it was unexpected.
Ray had dealt with health problems on and off over the past 15 years, and in 2013, he revealed that he was diagnosed with inoperable prostate cancer.
He was a founding member and multi-instrumentalist, who mostly contributed vocals and flute. Ray plays the flute solo in “Nights in White Satin”. He was with the band from its start in 1964, up until he retired in 2002.
