A huge thank-you and ‘well done!’ to the families and neighbours who helped Abigayle have an early Halloween on Sunday night. Waterloo’s Toughest Cookie was told a couple weeks ago that she was going to have to have another procedure and she’d be spending another Oct 31st in the hospital -that’s 3 years in a row! Well sometimes it’s nice for a kid to just be a kid, and neighbours jumped at the chance to help give Abigayle a chance to be a kid and get CANDY! She was kind enough to invite my daughter and me, so we joined her family and went door to door. It was awesome to see families already dressed-up and happily hand out candy and laugh with little Abigayle. What an awesome night.
A little background on Abigayle Lobsinger and Abigayle’s Journey
It has now been 2 years since Abigayle was admitted hospital with an extremely high fever, pains and unable to move her left leg. One month later we learned that Abigayle had a rare form of cancer named Neuroblastoma
Since August 2015, Abigayle has spent over 300 days in hospital, receiving countless treatments and procedures, had 13 surgeries combining for almost 40 hours inside the operating room and she continues to battle on and move forward not letting anything stop her from recovering.
This fight has been incredibly hard on the Lobsinger family who have changed their lives around to help their daughter. Long hospital stays and travelling means lots of added expenses. If you want to help the family, you can take a look at their online auction – it has signed collectors items from Foo Fighters, a signed Leafs journey and many great donations form local businesses.
