Despite their status as modern alt-rock royalty, the Foo Fighters have long been steeped in classic rock tradition. They wore their influences proudly at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge with an explosive cover of AC/DC’s “Let There Be Rock.”
The band blaze through the track, anchored by a steady groove from drummer Taylor Hawkins and bassist Nate Mendel. Guitarist Chris Shiflett slashes through the mix with tasteful solos, but the true hero is frontman Dave Grohl, who gives a remarkable approximation of Bon Scott’s adenoidal scream.
