Kitchener’s own Jamal Murray was back in town over the weekend to help give kids some back-to-school supplies. He also had a cool announcement. The Denver Nuggets guard was at the Amos Avenue affordable housing complex and announced that it would be the site of a new outdoor basketball court. Having a safe place for all kids to play is important to Murray, who’s love for basketball brought him all the way to the NBA. It looks like the province will pay for the court and Murray will be a part of the team that will help with upkeep and equipment. It will be a great addition to that area, made even more special since it is good news that comes out of a tragic story of a small child being killed when he was by a car in the same location just over a year ago.
