Glamour.com has an article on Sarah McLachlan’s ‘Lilith Fair’ festival, and it includes an anecdote about the time when TOOL wanted to be on the bill. Which is amusing, because the festival was only for FEMALE singer-songwriters.
MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN said, quote, “I asked our booking agent to request an offer to play. He did. They declined.”
However, it doesn’t sound like he was SERIOUS about wanting to be there, because he also said, quote, “I wanted the ‘thank you, but no thank you’ letter to frame. Never got it.” (Elsewhere, Sarah’s manager says they decided to launch the tour because Sarah was struggling with writer’s block.)
