Today is McHappy Day. When you buy a McCafe drink, Happy Meal or Big Mac you are supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities. That’s a great thing, but when you know someone who has had to stay at Ronald McDonald House, it means even more. When Nolan Melchin was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he and his family had to spend many days at nights there. It was an incredibly difficult time. I can only imagine what that would be like. But Nolan’s family tells the same story that so many other do: while they were going through the most difficult days of their lives, Ronald McDonald House was there. It’s an amazing place that is like a 2nd home for families dealing with things that nobody should have to go through. Nolan’s family even raise the money to sponsor a room there for the next 5 years.
The Melchins also continue to support families in Nolan’s memory with their annual golf tournament. This year it will be June 10th at Conestoga Golf & Country Club. Not only is it an amazing cause (last year the tournament helped support the Lobsinger family, who’s little girl, Abigayle, is fighting cancer) but just as a golf tournament it is seriously one of the best values around. For $135 you get 18 holes of scramble golf with cart, BBQ lunch with a tall boy, delicious buffet dinner and a voucher for a FREE future round at any Golf North course! Plus contest holes and grand prizes of a platinum membership at Golf North, a 3 night stay in Nashville with flight and a 500 dollar Amex card. Incredible. Registration is now open.
