FLEETWOOD MAC and THE EAGLES officially announced that big festival that they’re doing on both coasts this summer. Here’s the deal:
It’s called The Classic, and it’s a two-day shindig going down on July 15th and 16th at Dodger Stadium in L.A., and July 29th and 30th at Citi Field in New York.
The Eagles will headline the Saturdays, with support from STEELY DAN and the DOOBIE BROTHERS. Fleetwood Mac will headline the Sundays with opening acts JOURNEY and EARTH, WIND & FIRE.
Tickets go on sale next Friday. At the moment, you can only buy them for BOTH days. There’s no word if that’ll change. (Check out a preview video and ticket info at the official site.)
It’s hard to imagine this wasn’t inspired by last year’s Desert Trip . . . a.k.a. Oldchella, which brought together Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, The Who, Neil Young, and Roger Waters.
