Star Wars fans lost royalty yesterday when it was confirmed that Carrie Fisher, best known as Princess Leia, died at the age of 60. News came out that Fisher has suffered a serious heart attack during a flight on December 23rd, but some reports said she was recovering and doing alright. Then the announcement came yesterday (Dec 27th) that she had died just before 9am.
TIME Magazine has done some great coverage on it and some look backs at Fisher’s career.

A bit of interesting timing with the Star Wars movies though – as Rogue One showed (SPOILER AHEAD), the franchise is not afraid to use CG animation to allow ‘Peter Cushing’ to return as Grand Moff Tarkin and a young Princess Leia even has a very brief scene near the end of the movie. So, who knows, perhaps Leia will live on in new additions to the Star Wars universe. No doubt there will be mixed reactions if she does.
