THE KINKS split up 20 years ago . . . but apparently brothers DAVE and RAY DAVIES have buried the hatchet, and are ready to reunite.
In an interview with Britain’s “Sun” tabloid, Ray said, quote, “Dave and I will definitely work together again. And we want to play live . . . Maybe The Kinks could play Glastonbury?”
Of course, that’s a big music festival in Britain. Next year’s event is happening in June, and RADIOHEAD is headlining.
Dave hasn’t commented, but in the past it didn’t seem like he was interested in reuniting. He once said, quote, “The music is so beautiful it shouldn’t be tainted. It would be a shame.
“You don’t need to see silly old men in wheelchairs singing ‘You Really Got Me’.”
Ray is 72, and Dave is 69. They were the only two constant members of the band. The most recent bassist Jim Rodford is 75, and the last drummer Bob Henrit is 72.
