In 1986, PRINCE recorded an album as ‘Camille,’ his FEMALE alter ego. The vocals are sped up to sound more feminine. The untitled album has eight songs, and was originally going to be released, but it was scrapped and all the copies were supposedly destroyed. But it isn’t completely gone.
Prince’s former tour manager Karen Krattinger is auctioning off a copy she had, along with 18 other promotional releases. Bidding on the package ends tomorrow, and last we checked it was going for $15,000.
By the way, Prince ended up releasing most of the Camille songs later under his name with natural vocals.
