SMASH MOUTH is still performing gigs at food festivals . . . although, they might want to avoid them going forward.
Last year, they ‘headlined’ a food and music festival in Fort Collins, Colorado . . . and singer STEVE HARWELL flipped out and started spewing profanity when people started throwing bread on the stage.
Then this past Saturday, they were at a Sweetcorn Festival in Urbana, Illinois when Steve had some sort of medical emergency in the middle of the set. He sat down, and had some roadies CARRY HIM OFF STAGE.
An ambulance came and took him away, while the rest of the band continued performing. They did their version of “I’m a Believer” . . . you know, the “Shrek” song . . . and “All Star”. Even without Steve, the fans were totally into it.
One person said, quote, “The crowd went wild. No one cared that the lead singer left. Seriously. Overall, the show exceeded my expectations.” (???)
It’s unclear what happened to Steve. No one from the band has said anything specific. When someone Tweeted the band, asking if Steve was okay, the account just responded, quote, “Yes Thx!”
