PATRICK CARNEY from the BLACK KEYS has joined Trent
Reznor in speaking out against YouTube’s payouts. But unlike Trent, Patrick is
dragging DELICIOUS AVOCADOS into it. Random eh ???? DELICIOUS AVOCADOS
Patrick and Trent are upset because there are a lot of videos on YouTube that
feature artists’ music, but are not licensed . . . at least not directly with the artists . . .
and so the artists don’t get paid.
Patrick Tweeted, quote, “Give me five minutes on YouTube and I probably can find
250 songs that are available, which the artist isn’t getting paid for. At least.
“A song should cost as much as an avocado. They should be traded similarly at
least until people discover a similarly thick and savory fruit.” (???)
Trent and YouTube had a back-and-forth about whether YouTube fairly
compensates artists earlier this week.
