Drummer JOEY JORDISON was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards last night . . . and he finally talked about why he left SLIPKNOT three years ago.
He said he was diagnosed with a crippling disease called ‘transverse myelitis,’ a form of multiple sclerosis . . . and, quote, “I lost [control of] my legs. I couldn’t play anymore. [But] I got myself back, and I got myself in the gym and I got myself back in therapy, to [effing] beat this [crap]. And, if I could do it, you could it.”
He’s back now, and is currently working with a couple bands, Vimic and Sinsaenum.
