We have decided to get a new kitten for our family. My wife and I both grew up with pets, and we wanted our daughter to get to experience all the benefits – and some of the difficulties – so we headed to the KW Humane Society last night. Not only did our 3-year-old have a great time, we learned a lot about the Humane Society and what it takes to add a kitten to our family.
If you are looking to give a kitten a forever home, there is a great opportunity to meet some tomorrow (Saturday, May 14th) at the KWHS’ annual Kitten Shower. It’s a great chance to see how your kids will react to an animal, for you to meet a new friend for yourself, or to donate items that the humane society needs in order to care for all of the kittens that come in around this time of year (they really need kitten formula). They have a lot right now. When we were there last night, somebody left a box full of kittens at the front door of the building. It happens far too often this time of year.
