BIG MUSIC FEST CANCELS 2016 EVENT
TORONTO, ON – (March 14, 2016) – Mark Higgins, Owner and President of Big Music Fest, regrets to announce that the festival will not be staging an event in Kitchener in 2016. Due to difficulties securing a line-up of world class performers this year, Mr. Higgins has opted to forego an event this year and focus on assembling an incredible festival for 2017.
“BMF is committed to ensuring the talent we do bring to Kitchener is reflective of the city’s desire to be a destination city for outstanding music and entertainment events,” said Mr. Higgins. “Kitchener is a strong market for BMF and this year’s decision in no way reflects our efforts in building a stand-out line up for 2017.”
Mr. Higgins is already looking to 2017 and has every intention of restaging BMF in 2017.
“For our part – we remain committed to working with Mark and BMF in the future as we build our brand as a dynamic and exciting festival city,” said Jeff Young, Manager of Special Events, Economic Development, City of Kitchener. “We are already seeing the spinoff benefit that BMF 2014 and 2015 have had, with new promoters contacting us to explore opportunity in Kitchener, and new festivals being staged this year. We look forward to working with Mark on future events.”
