We’ll be seeing the first NHL 3-on-3 All-Star tournament this weekend – if you’re watching, that is. It seems like it could be interesting to watch some of the NHL’s best with plenty of room to move around the ice. What kind of set-ups will we see? Lots of breakaways? A ton of scoring? Sounds like a video game. There are actually 3 games on Sunday: Metropolitan vs Atlantic at 5p, Pacific vs Central at 6p and then the winners of both games will play each other at 7p.
Another cool feature of the 3-on-3 is the conversation it brings up of ‘what would the greatest 3-on-3 team of all time be?’ The NHL came up with some ideas, listing the best 3-on3 teams from the 2000’s, 90’s, 80’s and 70’s (clicking on any decade will take you the the articles)
And I couldn’t do anything on the NHL All-Star weekend without mentioning John Scott. The All-Star who shouldn’t be – or should he? He was voted in. He didn’t do anything wrong. The league however, they didn’t handle this well at all. You can read Scott’s article from The Players Tribune right here. It’s good.
